Sore Eros // “Stacy”
Man, don’t you love it when bands just keep getting better and better? Every time I hear new stuff from Sore Eros it seems like these guys are on the verge of exploding due to awesomeness. And the best part about these dudes is that it’sobvious that, should they choose, they could write some amazing straightforward pop songs… but that’s not what they do. No, they are way too weird for that. They create skeletons of pop songs and then bend and break those bones to fit their skewed, wonky vision. They walk that line perfectly and I am total sucker for it.
At the tail end of 2010 Sore Eros gave us one of the year’s best albums with Know Touching. Now they are following it up with a mini album called Just Fuzz out on Blackburn Recordings. Yesterday they sent this video for the track “Stacy” out to numerous places (blogs, sites, etc.) hoping for a new grassroots sort of internet premiere going. Leave it to these guys to do things a little differently. Watch the clip to see the dudes playing music and just getting into all sorts of summer time nonsense.
