The John Candy - Overdrive Beach
Remember when I told you that digging around on Transfusão Noise Records would only yield good things? I wasn’t lying. While scratching around in the sand over on the label’s site I downloaded The John Candy’s album Overdrive Beach and it is one of the best impulse decisions I could have made.
Hailing from (you guessed it) Brazil, these dudes were obviously raised on a healthy diet of 90’s alternative rock. Weezer. Pavement. Sonic Youth. You name it, the influences are there on the band’s collective sleeve (sometimes they even remind me of early Pinback). It’s such a great album that I’m surprised the band is generously giving it away for free. Since they are being such great guys, it would be criminal for you to ignore it. You can nab it from the label’s site or just click this link.
