Dustin Wong // “Pink Diamond”
After the untimely demise of Ponytail (one of the loves of my life) I’ve been able to find solace in the craft of Dustin Wong. His guitar work became one of the art-pop outfit’s most recognizable and endearing features. Every time I listen to his music I get pangs of bittersweet nostalgia for the band that is no more, but I also feel gleefully ecstatic about where this artist is going. He is easily one of the most exciting artists on the scene right now and I can’t wait to see where his magical fingers take him next.

On February 21st, Thrill Jockey will be releasing Dustin’s newest album Dreams Say, View, Create, Shadow Leads. Expect more fully-realized worlds of creative guitar looping and layering. In the meantime check out the video for album single “Pink Diamond.” It’s just as intricate and mesmerizing as the song itself.
