clownfacee // Winter EP Michael Quigley is a New York-based musician who goes by the name clownfacee. He just released his debut EP on bandcamp called Winter. Now, I know the title and the cover evoke the cold of the winter months, but listening to it I get something completely different. His ambient folk/electronic music has a warmth to it that would melt the snow, and images of spring slowly awakening jump to mind, especially on the opening track “In Your Head”. Little by little the song builds and layers, uncoiling itself like a flower arising from a snowy sleep and finally ending on a triumphant note. I’m using alot of metaphors here, but these are just the things that come to mind as I listen to this EP. If you are into ambient or folk music, then I recommend you check out clownfacee.
