ABADABAD // “All the Bros Say”
Back when I heard “California Birds” for the first time, I knew that ABADABAD was something special. That track inspired me to seek the band out and work with them in some sort of capacity, whoever they were. That aha moment resulted in Chill Mega Chill putting out the band’s first release; their split EPĀ Makeout Beach with Stoner Showers. Since then I’ve gotten to know them a bit better and subsequently have been eagerly anticipating a followup from this promising band.
Enter “All the Bros Say” the new single from the band’s followup EP The Wild. Anchoring the EP right smack dab in the middle, this new track flexes a lot of the muscle that the group has built up in the past year and boasts a vaguely tropical 1960’s pop melody. Jeremy Lee’s vocals seem to be settling down into a comfortable almost drawl leaving me smiling when he sings, “get the hell out of my car.” He and the rest of the company have become such strong songwriters and their style is one that is becoming instantly recognizable. They are already blog favorites and have even made NME’s “100 New Bands For 2012” list, now it’s just a game of wait and see what they conquer next.
