Moths // “Blisters”
Moths is Jack Colleran an ambitious 17-year-old electronic musician from Ireland. You could call him a musician, but producer might be a better fit. So far he’s released two tracks for download on his bandcamp.
There is a frenetic energy buried in his song “Blisters.” It’s not deep beneath the surface, rather it’s right there barely contained underneath the song’s shiny production. The different pieces of the song are collected and sewn together with beats and claps. When the trilling synth finally starts in (giving the song an almost world-music feel), the whole thing breathes and pulsates nearly bursting at the seams.
(On a side note: these last few weeks everything seems to be coming up teenagers when it comes to good, new music. That really makes me happy. It shows that no matter how hard the contemporary culture tries, they can’t brainwash everyone into banality.)
Grab this track and his other “Slow/Down” for free on his bandcamp. And keep an eye on Moths, you’ll be hearing more from him in the future.
