Tommy Toussaint // “Sloppy Sentimentalists”

Here’s a new jam from the Cats Purring dudes. This one is from one of Dent May’s band members, Tommy Toussaint. Apart from an obvious love of alliteration and retro cover art (contributed by Will Bryant), Tommy Toussaint has an uncanny ability to pen near-perfect pop songs.

Now if you’re a fan of Dent May then you already have an idea of where Tommy Toussaint’s sound will land. That’s not to say that they sound the same. Rather their similarities are grounded in the fact that they both take their music down a pop avenue that feels so unabashedly joyful and timeless. There are alot of layers to this track and once they are laid out, one on top of the other, they result in an audio confection almost too good to be believed.

Now if this is your first introduction to Tommy’s music, then I have good news. Back in October, Tommy released his first EP with the Cats Purring collective called Cosmic Caverns (again with the alliteration) that you can download for free here.
