Messy Sparkles // Feeling Good Forever
After listening to this Messy Sparkles album, I really cannot think of a better title for it than Feeling Good Forever. Honestly, if you’re having a crappy day and you find yourself wishing that you were “anywhere but here”, then I implore you to check out Messy Sparkles’ unabashedly happy music that will have you Feeling Good Forever.
This album is a tropical beach party in the form of eleven songs and it’s coming out (My mistake! It’s not this album, but a new split with another band.) on Vacation Dad's increasingly awesome label Two Michael Jordans. Though from Arkansas, these guys sound like their permanent residence is a place much more tropical. It’s as if their record player got stuck on the Beach Boys “Kokomo” for weeks on end. They took the neon flamingo vibe of that song and dressed it up in the most fantastic dance rhythms they could find. From then on it was a 24/7 Caribbean dance party. These dudes throw everything they could find into this music including steel drums and even some banging on pots and pans (literally). It’s quite honestly the happiest music I’ve heard in a long while. The best part of it is that that emotion transfers very easily from the speakers to the your receptors in your brain.
I wish I could share every song of their with you, because they are all that much fun. I guess I’ll just have to settle for this one jam though. If you dig it, then you MUST head to their bandcamp where you can pay whatever you want for the whole thing.
